Titicut Follies is ...I was going to use splendid, but that's too pleasant of a word to describe said film. It's very difficult to verbalize exactly what or how I feel about the movie other than to say it's visceral and as much in tune with the human condition as any other movie I've seen. Have you seen any other of Wiseman's documentaries? 1970's Hospital is just as good, in my humble opinion. I think Wiseman furthers the notion of cinema verite. While he and Pennebaker differ, Wiseman's films are a natural progression and evolution of what a documentary should be.
